So on my way to work this morning, I saw exhibit A:
and then I ran over exhibit B!!!:
Ok, not really. But it was a big snake. It was stretched out almost across the entire two-lane road.
In related news the worlds longest recorded snake ever held in captivity a reticulated python, which was 32ft, 9.5inches. (It was killed in Celebes, Indonesia, in 1912).
Pictured above, the white is the jaws from today's average alligator, the dark and MUCH larger jaws are those of a prehistoric alligator.
Pretty big huh?
Wanna know a little secret?
Prehistoric snakes used to hunt and kill ancient alligators!!!
Can you even begin to imagine how big a snake like that would be?
Can you picture yourself staring into the eye of a snake who's pupil would be the size of half your body?
Well I thought I was already afraid of alligators, this just ruined my evening. Hah good stuff.
ReplyDeleteWTF I would have screamed my head off lol
ReplyDeletewow thats awesome, look at the snake!
ReplyDeletePosted the largest snake bit twice, but I love the thought of those gigantic prehistoric alligators! :o
ReplyDelete32 ft WTF.
ReplyDeleteCould you not have put a frickin' snake warning???? OMG.... I'm still shivering at the thought of that thing. Cute tortoise though....
ReplyDeleteAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
ReplyDeleteI don't know where reticulated pythons live, but I can tell you im sure as hell staying away from there!
ReplyDelete@Erika, my bad, but trying to work on my showmanship ;) little surprise never hurt anyone, or did it? ;)
ReplyDeleteAs for the tortoise, it was attacking my German Shep one day, thing was HUGE, couldn't even lift it with a shovel.
We would've been a midday snack to prehistoric animals.
ReplyDeleteAnd that, my friends, is why we evolved to be affraid of the dark.
ReplyDeletegood ones :)
ReplyDeleteWow quite an eventful start to the day then!
ReplyDeleteI want to live in the past... awsome prehistoric alligators!
ReplyDeleteI'm not that scared of snakes.
ReplyDeleteI actually think they're kind of cute. :3
Dude! That would freak me the hell out! No wonder we had to invent weapons.
ReplyDeleteIronic that those big creatures were all screwed over by their size. One of the problems of being a tertiary consumer when the environment stops producing food. :P
ReplyDeleteOH NICE PHOTOS :D

ReplyDeleteMurder. What did that snake do to you, besides Jaywalking.
